Special purpose car seats
The national register of special purpose car seats only features car seats that have been independently assessed as part of our Australian Safety Assessment Program (AuSAP).
Special purpose car seats provide additional features not available on Australian standard car seats such as swivel base, footrest, extra postural support and additional recline.

The national register of Australian standard car seats features car seats more commonly used by children with disabilities and medical conditions.
Australian standard car seats are independently assessed as part of the Child Restraint Evaluation Program.

Harnesses/vests
The national register of harnesses and vests includes harness and vest products available in Australia today.
There is little evidence base informing the selection and use of harnesses and vests in Australia. To address this, MACA is leading an Austroads project to investigate harnesses/vests with the aim of including them in the Australian Safety Assessment Program (AuSAP).
