Australian Safety Assessment Program (AuSAP)
The leading global assessment program for vehicle restraint systems used by children with disabilities and medical conditions
Overview
Established in 2020, the Australian Safety Assessment Program (AuSAP) is located in Melbourne, Australia, and is the first program to independently assess (including sled crash testing) the specialty restraint systems used by children with disabilities and medical conditions when travelling in motor vehicles.
AuSAP recently assessed a range of special purpose car seats with outcomes now available and incorporated into MACA's website, resources and training.
AuSAP work is ongoing, with further reviews of special purpose car seats, and other restraint types to be undertaken.
